We enhance the health and well-being of people in the communities we serve, through a not-for-profit mission, commitment to compassion and excellence in health care services.

Opportunity for Growth

Sutter Nurses have tremendous options for growing or expanding their careers beyond the opportunities for specialty careers (i.e. ER, ICU, etc.) There are career ladder opportunities in the areas of clinical specialty or management. In addition, nurses have a chance to develop their skills through on line learning opportunities, continuing education classes or Sutter Health Affiliates’ Tuition Reimbursement Programs.

Locations throughout Northern California

Sutter Health offers boundless opportunities for nurses in a variety of environments: small community hospitals, large acute care hospitals, medical centers, home health/hospice agencies, and outpatient settings.

Sutter Health facilities are located in some of California's most desirable and scenic locations San Francisco Bay Area, Pacific Coast, Sierra Foothills, Napa Valley, Central Valley, Coastal Valley, and Hawaii – close to excellent outdoors and recreational activities.

The Latest Technology

Sutter Health continues to allocate funds so that Nurses have access to the most updated equipment and the latest technology, and work in well maintained, modern facilities. To ensure safer delivery of medications to hospitalized patients we are implementing newly developed technology:

  • Bar Coding Medications - The Electronic Medication Administrator Program (eMap) makes use of computerized bar coding on patients' wristbands, nurses identification badges and calculated dose of medication.
  • eICU - As a pacesetter provider organization, we are the first on the west coast to adopt electronic surveillance of patients in our critical care units by creating off-site monitoring stations staffed with full-time critical care physicians.
